bundle up

it's still really nice out, but i can't stop thinking about a new winter coat. ideally i'd like to find one at a thrift store for $6, but the nicer coats i've seen have all been huge. so i've been doing some internet window shopping, much of which is out of my budget... but i'm trying to just figure out what kind of coats i'm looking for, and i'm sort of all over the place. do you guys already have your winter 09 coat?

  2. i keep telling myself i do NOT need a new winter coat. but i do live in a state with a REAL winter .. so is it so bad to buy a new one every season??

maybe i should start getting rid of one and then replacing it with a new one?

no se! your picks are so nice though. i especially like the mustard one .. just thinking about it with your hair makes me smile!

  5. Hmm, the thing about buying a winter coat online is you don't know how warm it will be until you get it in real life. Keep searching at the thrift store, I say.

  17. i've never really invested in a good winter coat. I'm too cheap! I like the kind of looser looking ones. Or any of the ones on the Sart. the pleated volume in the first picture is divine

  18. i love your winter coat choices! and i hope you do score one from the thrift store.
your post has got me thinking too... i don't have a coat for winter '09 specifically, but mentally examining of my closet, i realize i own quite a few coats, so i may just layer up to stay warm if the temperature plummets again this year.

  20. Living in the dirty south, I can't currently justify why I bought a $500 winter coat from Japan (Innocent World!) this month, other than it is my dream coat. And I will be living in NYC next year! Coats are worth the extra $$, because you need a good mix of timelessness and uniqueness since it is such a major foundation of a winter outfit.
