i really don't have enough opportunities to wear this coat out. i bought it a year ago at the philly punk rock flea market. it's too warm for nice days and too thin for cool days, but for the few indian summer days it's spot on. i've been meaning to replace the buttons with something a little more delicate, but i am slow on tasks like that.
last night i stayed up late and watched Killer Klowns from Outer Space (currently free on demand). this movie is the stuff of 8 year old's nightmares, but seeing it now it's a total hilarious mess. with a killer intro song and the worst acting imaginable.

i skipped class today to go thrifting and have been feeling guilty about it ever since. i figure it's okay because tomorrow i have to be at school at 9 am on a SATURDAY, uhg.
next weekend asobi seksu and broadcast are playing, on saturday and sunday respectively. i really should only go to one, but i can't decide which! help me!
happy weekend you guys!

happy weekend to you, too! you look stunning in that sequined dress and that coat is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteand i'm right there with you. i skipped class yesterday and felt terrible. and i've got saturday class, too. i should really rethink my schedule!
I love them both - the first one because pastel colours has been my all-time favorite, and the second one, because I don't normally like sequin dress, but yours is beautiful. It's so classy and made me even want to have one!
ReplyDeleteAnd hope you don't feel awful for skipping the class anymore. I always had classes on saturday until I managed my schedule better this term - but still got the assignment to catch up by weekend, though. I'm cheering your from here! :)
Sadly I don't really familiar with the bands, but hope you could made the right decision - and enjoy the coming days!
I love your dress! I've been looking for the perfect sequined dress ever since I saw Uma Thurman wear one on the cover of W Magazine this month! But yours is just perfect! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my god, 'Killer Klowns from Outer Space'? That movie sounds hilarious and amazing! Oh, and I am ridiculously infatuated with your sequin dress!
ReplyDeletelove the coat!
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous lady! Love that coat...and basically everything else.

that dress!!!
ReplyDeleteand the coat! that yellow is just perfect.
I love your coat, it looks so fuzzy and cozy. I always get nervous when I skip class, like something very important must have been said and I missed the class so I'll be screwed over.
ReplyDeleteBut I think thrifting is a very good reason to miss class :)
What a great coat! I'm glad it was finally the right weather for you to wear it. And I love that sequin dress so much!
ReplyDeleteAnd, oh all the reasons to ditch class, I think going thrifting would be a very good reason ;)
what a lovely winter coat!
ReplyDeleteum, wow, fantastic dress and coat.

ReplyDeleteand that dress is amazing, so 80's!

xx
Classy!! :) I don't know about Broadcast, but I've seen Asobi Seksu live and they were pretty amazing!
ReplyDeletethat vintage dress is so damn gorgeous. and i know exactly what you mean about coats that are too hot for warm days and too thin for cold days. rahh. it looks good though!
ReplyDeletexx
i really want to steal your vintage black dress there.. nice match with the shoes you look so classy :D i feel like i am watching a vintage movie at the moment :D
ReplyDeleteaggghhhh! conundrum, sister! i've never seen either live, but broadcast will probably be chill so i wouldn't go if you were planning on dancing. which is the only way anyone gets me to go to shows. it combats the desire to DIE, being around that many people at once. eek!
ReplyDeletei really dig this look with the jacket ~ perfect for Bay Area weather!
ReplyDelete(and thanks for the nice compliment on my banner! there are some real gems in the Flickr Commons)
Gorgeous sequins dress and with that coat to go along ! Its really so so beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteAhhhhhhh,I think you should go for both if you can ! they're both so so awesome bands !
Awesome dress! Great find!
ReplyDeleteX, fashion-nerdic.
That coat and dress is to die for! By the way has anyone ever told you that you look like Joan from Mad Men? I think she's the most beautiful woman ever with a great sense of style. I love your outfit because it's modern and retro at the same time. As for skipping class to go thrifting. Happens to even the most studious of fashion bloggers, including myself :)
ReplyDeleteThere's no sense in me skipping class to go thrifting, seeing as I'm in grade nine and my mom doesn't have a job and I can simply just walk downtown to my thrift stores... but no shame, sista, no shame.
ReplyDelete+ this outfit is lovely, by the way!
PS: Thanks for commenting on my blog ♥ Seriously, go wild with the purple, hehe. It's such fun.
