a little different

gray
this outfit went in a bit of a different direction than my usual style. i went thrifting yesterday and got so much loot it wouldn't all fit in my backpack, making for a dangerous bike ride home. shop update coming soon.

these suede wedge boots are kind of weird and ugly but they are also so similar to the acne/jeffrey campbell wedges (that are totally not me, but i can't help but like them anyway) that i had to buy them cause they were also wayyy less expensive.
gris
the ankles are an awkward height which i have folded down, but then it's tight and uncomfortable on my legs. i'm thinking about cutting off the extra inches on the top but i don't know what to do about the side zippers. any ideas? is that something tailors do?

blazer: vintage, dress: h+m, tights: tokyo, boots: thrifted, purse: vintage coach

it's thursday night, but i don't have class on fridays, which is capitol AWESOME (except that i'll probably end up working on most of them), so my weekend has begun. might go play quizzo after i publish this. and it's supposed to hail/snow all weekend so i'm not sure i'll be leaving the house after tonight- a great chance for homework interneting!

  1. You look great. I love the boots! I can never find really great vintage boots in my size. I love that your dress and blazer are the same length. I'm sorry, but I don't know about the zippers. I've wondered the same thing myself though.

  5. Cobblers are miracle workers, I'm sure they could add zippers to your lovely little boots :). It could cost you a bit, but definitely doable.

  6. Friday are my only days off from school besides weekends also. I get this mini-sense of freedom and totally throw away the idea of going to bed early. Rebellious, I know. Ha!

  14. i love your striped dress! i bought one from old navy recently, but it has been too cold to wear it!

also, last spring i had a tues/thurs class schedule .. having mondays and fridays off was incredible!

  15. First of all, your hair is so much longer! Are you letting it grow out?
Second, i was obsessed with finding a striped dress like that and alas, never found one :(

third, I love that fact that you rode your bike! haha, something i would do with bags falling of the handlebars. awesome.

  16. usually when i cut through a zipper i just used a good scissor, something you dont use fro fabric so you dont dull it. and then i out some crazy glue at the ends as a stopper. not the prettiest looking or smartest probably but it works for me

  31. mmm i love those acne and jeffrey campbell wedges. which i don't think are very "me" either but i want them anyway as well. h&m had a decent knockoff nearly a year ago which i did not take advantage of and deeply regret.

  32. Loving the proportions with the long shirt dress & blazer. Tailors do pretty much everything, take them in and see what they see, if they can't do it they'll recommend someone who can! Love the blog =)

  33. The suede wedges are perfect as-is.
    A great find.
