the mean reds

ahh i started posting this last night and fell asleep. oops! it's been so unseasonably pleasant and i can't help begin to feel butterflies for spring. i'm going to be very sad when it freezes over again.
in particular
i had a superb weekend, a friend's art show followed by crowded dance party and then i wore this to a lovely birthday party full of wine and cheese and cakes on saturday. and i went to trader joes yesterday, and i have to admit: i love grocery shopping. peanut butter puffins, veggie burgers, hummus, polenta! going to eat soo healthy now.
i've been wanting to take more photos- of things other than myself, haha. i took a photo class 2 years ago that really bummed me out, but i've decided that it was the lame teacher and not my fault. so i made my friend who lives in nyc buy me a diana mini when the lomo store was having a big sample sale. i won't see it until i visit him (or he comes here, ahem), but i'm psyched!

a little different

gray
this outfit went in a bit of a different direction than my usual style. i went thrifting yesterday and got so much loot it wouldn't all fit in my backpack, making for a dangerous bike ride home. shop update coming soon.

these suede wedge boots are kind of weird and ugly but they are also so similar to the acne/jeffrey campbell wedges (that are totally not me, but i can't help but like them anyway) that i had to buy them cause they were also wayyy less expensive.

the ankles are an awkward height which i have folded down, but then it's tight and uncomfortable on my legs. i'm thinking about cutting off the extra inches on the top but i don't know what to do about the side zippers. any ideas? is that something tailors do?

it's thursday night, but i don't have class on fridays, which is capitol AWESOME (except that i'll probably end up working on most of them), so my weekend has begun. might go play quizzo after i publish this. and it's supposed to hail/snow all weekend so i'm not sure i'll be leaving the house after tonight- a great chance for homework interneting!

january 17

i've been a bit of a neglectful blogger, many sorries for that. new year going well, keeping me quite busy with a new job (at a vintage shop!), searching for an internship, and enjoying my last days of free time before my (last!) semester begins. mostly i've been watching a lot of 30 rock on netflix. i think i'll actually blog more while i'm in school- it's such a perfect way to procrastinate.

AA tights, everything else is vintage
this is an old photo from october or november (as you can tell by my green herbs, they have since shriveled) but it never made it to the blog. it's been really nice and warm the last two days and i've been dressing real cute and everything, but my boyfriend has been at work during daylight hours so no new outfit photos.
but i do have a little food porn for ya! went out to lunch with a pal i met in tokyo who turned out to be from right outside philly. we all got general tso's (fake) chicken with curry dumplings. and all of us pulled out our cameras to take a shot before we ate- haha eating with people who blog. she has a sweet vegan food blog here.

oh and lastly, some clothes from my shop have been popping up on a couple blogs.. thanks guys, it's awesome to see the items going to stylish homes!

happy new year!

last night was a blur of sparkling wine, sequins, dancing and cab rides. unfortunately i was having too much fun for photos.. that always happens.
my resolution for 2010 is to be more vegetarian*, so i capped off 2009 with a classy philly cheesesteak (wiz wit) from geno's at 3am (pat's was closed for the holiday).

this is a shaker lemon pie i made with my mom for christmas. not quite martha stewart, but i liked the imperfect braided crust and it was deee lish!
lemon pie
happy happy 2010!! it's going to be a good one, i can just tell.

*by more vegetarian i mean i'm going to eat less meat, stop ordering it in restaurants and such, still eat fish, etc. small steps. my thinking is that if i announce it, then i can't go back on it!
