some snaps from my first roll on the diana mini. i had gotten scared that nothing would come out at all, so i'm pretty pleased that some of them weren't too under exposed.

casual friday
i was up late last night, (went to alex's new band's show!), so today i ended up sleeping through class and spending most of the day grocery shopping. i always feel guilty when i skip but like.... gaahhh honestly i'm a super good student most of the time. sometimes i just have a day where i need to walk around by myself and peruse vegetables.
i really love my neighborhood because i can walk through the italian market to pick up some cheap produce on my way to whole foods and then stop at a few of my fave vintage spots on my way home. there was a deal on organic avocados so i got a few and whipped up some awesome (if i do say so myself) guacamole and tortilla chips for dinner. pretty sure thats not a well rounded meal so i had some swedish fish for dessert.

old yeller
okay these photos are a little misleading, this is not my bike, it's alex's and a little too big for me. but anyhow my bike is not bright yellow and therefore less photogenic. still, she'll make an appearance someday soon i suspect.
you can also see my neighbor's porshe in the corner up there, haha, swanky.
so the bag is new, well thrifted, and it's a perfect camera bag for my new diana mini! i am trying to do the whole photo a day thing, but i'm still figuring out how to use the dang thing. plastic cameras are much more complex than they seem!

march madness
laptop is fixed yay! now i can post my pictures from spring break! and they are all of birthday cakes!
the real deal!
thanks for all your sweet comments! it was a rad birthday, the weather was perfect, got to hang with my favorite people, and even saw nick zinner (YYYs) leaving a bar in les. i also did a ton of thrifting which should be making appearances on here in the next days and weeks.
and lastly, holy SPRING. i am totally spending tomorrow afternoon in a park eating brie on a baguette and petting other people's dogs.

family album
digging around my mom's office at home i came across an envelope filled with old photos. i love vintage photos & it's even cooler when you can put a name to the faces.

outfit post
new fave thrifted sweater.
i'd been hoping to come across a jacket with a collar like this! i usually go thrifting without a particular list in mind, just a surprise me kind of attitude. but there is definitely a wish list in the back of my mind- which this gets checked off! it's faux fur by the way.
i won the purse from another's treasure's contest! thank you again, amanda!

inspiration: streets of tokyo

japanese fashion is really interesting to me because it spawns from a culture that is rooted in strict social codes and conformity. yet the japanese continue to be some of the most original and creative dressers and designers. is it a form of rebellion? or a celebration of ancient japanese arts of simplicity, form and fabric? or something totally different and indescribable?
whatever their motivations, i love what the japanese do. that layering, those jodhpurs, those pink ruffled socks, my gaw! it's all so... effortless?
tokyo will always have a special corner of my heart. (dream job would involve sending me there at least once a year, just sayin'...)
