also make lots of yummy soups and stay inside all day under the covers every chance you get. but i am tired of hibernating! i even went out dancing weekend which was totally worth facing the cold. anyway, spring you are so close i know it!

winters bone

i had some serious vintage scores this past weekend, including this sequined 50s cardigan. i think i've been using shopping to fend off the winter blues, which is not exactly healthy, but it seems to work okay.. seriously can january end already? i'm dreaming of short shorts and bathing suits and iced tea and being too hot to sleep instead of being to cold to get out of bed..

salmon

this is more of a theoretical outfit, one that could be worn out to a soiree or cocktail party if i had somewhere fancy to go like that. instead i'm just overdressed for going to the post office and grocery shopping. but some days, especially winter days, getting dressed up makes all the difference.

i'm a total sucker for conspiracy theories. last night watched jfk which is 3.5 hours but it really doesn't feel like it. i have so many movies on my to watch list! can't wait for somewhere to come out over here, despite some iffy reviews.. i loved marie antoinette no matter what some people say about it. just think of what sofia coppola has done for the macaron!

good thing i got a teenage mutant ninja turtles snow hat! i am a sucker for this kind of crap. i got it 'for alex' but i'm the only one whose worn it so far..

snow melts

the weather has been so wonky around here, snow storms, warm days, and now back to icy days. i am dreaming of spring and shorts weather. but trying not to complain! just keep throwing on another sweater and some bright socks while i wait it out for a few more months.

2011

kept it pretty simple with my new years eve outfit

spent the night with friends at a house party, dancing it up and indulging in champagne and noise makers, and the next morning got a nice huevos rancheros and a bloody mary to start the year off right!

some 2011 resolutions:
1. eat more local grown foods, and cut out junk food, corn syrup and soy (this is a tough one! and i'm giving up vegetarianism, but that's another story..)
2. move to the west coast by july (still deciding where to go, portland and oakland are the top contenders at the moment)
3. work on the vintage shop more

speaking of the shop, i'm doing some clearing out and everything (yes, everything!) is half off! hop over and help pare down my collection of dresses, jackets, shoes and more! plus i'll be adding lots of new stuff in the coming weeks.
