trouble maker

i've got a friend in town this week and we're seeing a few shows this weekend and even going on a lil jaunt to dc to see pains of being pure at heart at the black cat (cause i'll be seeing strfkr the same night they're playing in philly).
little personal tidbit: i got kicked out of the black cat the last two times i was there!.. mostly due to misunderstandings and, ahem, certain restrictive age limit laws.. but i'm confident i won't have any problems this time since i'm of age and all (yeah yeah okay, i kind of like to brag about this cause it totally makes me sound BA but also it's been like 3 years since i was last in there)

this weekend i watched this strange film set in the UK, felicia's journey, and was mesmerized by the general tone, the weird characters, but mostly by the main character's style. i was loving her amazing blue coat and giant heels she wears throughout. now i don't want to spoil it too much but it's got murder, abortion, an angry dad, and i wholeheartedly recommend it!

new uniform

blazer + stripes + skinnies has been my go to uniform for the last few days.. mostly because it's gotten cold again and i am just plum out of inspiration for chilly weather clothing. i just want to feel warm sun on my bare limbs. darn you winter for lasting so long and crampin my style!

i feel like i'm a little girl's doll in this 1950s dress. sort of fitting as i finally got around to watching toy story 3 last night! it was totally deep too.

i feel pretty silly about this, but here i am trying to wear red for japan. hey, my hair is red everyday for japan! just kidding. i'm a bit of a japan nerd and i spent a semester abroad in tokyo which quickly became my favorite city in the world. i really want to go back again. i can't even keep up with the news lately because it's too depressing and scary. but here's hoping everything turns out okay. go japan!

shark attack

it's been a busy couple of days since my last post, but here are some of my favorite shots from my aquarium visit on my birthday. it was pretty neat, even with all the babies and cheesy music they played. one of my favorite creatures was the dragon horse (something like a sea horse, but crazier), but he was too shy for a photo.

birthday wishes

tomorrow is my 23rd birthday! i took off work and i've got big plans for an aquarium visit, outdoor margaritas (it's supposed to be mid 50s!) and late night dancing. plus i have to get my birthday shot at ray's happy birthday bar! i've been meaning to do that for 3 years now...

i'm trying really hard not to indulge in any big sprees of self gifting this year, but i couldn't help doing a little window shopping..

rushing

maybe you wouldn't have even noticed it, but i was rushing to get a photo in before the sun went down and i didn't have time to iron out the biggest wrinkle in my blouse. okay, also i don't own an iron so i generally use my hair straightener for the job (pro tip, ladies!).

lady bug

so alex says i look more like a lady clown than a ladybug in this outfit. i thought that was pretty funny though, and i have to admit he has a point. but i remain undeterred! there will be lots of dots in my life this spring, that's for sure (great minds think alike, hm?).
