biker chick

i think this is the first time my bike has been included on the blog. i've had it for about 4 years now, so it's about time. it's nothing special but that's kind of what i like about it, plus it's nice and small for a shorty like me. i haven't named it or anything, but sometimes i call it my ~steed~. i don't have a car so it's my main form of transportation (i bike to work everyday!), luckily philly is a really easy to bike city, and it's getting even better with brand new bike lanes, although there's some catching up to do with some crazy potholes..

much ado about nothin

this outfit is rather boring but at least it's friday (fiiiinallyyyy) and after work i'm going to have a picnic and see shakespeare in the park, which i am quite excited about, despite the grumbles i have for journeying to west philly.. what a lazy bones i have become (oh but the heat! the unbearable heat!)

big sale

welp, i'm picking up and moving to a new apartment next month. to make it a little easier on me i'm holding a big sale in the shop! everything- dresses, shoes, swimsuits and all- is half off until august 1st, so hop over and get those vintage goodies so i don't have to pack em!

easy breezy

trying to take it easy with a lot on my mind- i'm moving to a new apartment in two weeks, it's taken forever to find one but i think i'm finally settled. or i will be. moving is such a pain! so many arrangements to make. but the weathers nice so i'm going to quit complaining and go read on my stoop while i still have one.

creek dip

this weekend i went on a little excursion from the city to go swimming in this pretty little creek at fort washington park. splashed around, ate fried chicken, and marveled at all the nature. the water was surprisingly clear and warm- at least surprising for me, the city girl who hears so much bad news about the environment that i assume every stream close to the city will be clogged with trash and run off. the only thing more i could have asked for was a rope swing..

independence day

i kinda hate themed dressing up for holidays but i just got this red and white striped 60s blouse and it's too perfect to resist the all american palate. i'm off to eat burgers and play with sparklers on roofs. happy 4th to all you americans, and happy summer to the rest of ya'll!

and just like that i'm back in the good ol' denim tuxedo. it's just so easy breezy to throw on, and if i add a little red and white i'll be all ready for independence day. i see bbqs and sparklers in my future..
