these photos crack me up a little because this ~rocker~ style is kinda different for me, and it sort of looks like i'm trying to be hard. i'm promise i'm not! but this jacket is just too cool.

it's been rainy and hot and weird the last few days, i've come down with a cold (my second in just a few weeks, uhg, need to drink less..), and it's almost october. where is all the time going? i can barely keep up...

rainy days

it's been a cloudy wet fall so far, but luckily i got a new pair of rain boots just in time. although getting them in white might have been a silly choice, as i've already mucked them up pretty good.

initially, i had salivated pretty hard about over the melissa x vivienne westwood bow boots (originally because of this gal), but could never find them cheap enough, so i went with the tretorn skerrys when i saw they were on sale. i could talk for days about my shopping habits, but i'm boring even myself so i'll leave it at that.

these photos are a couple days old, on what may have been the last hot day. say goodbye legs, you'll be all wrapped up and won't see sun for the next few months! i'm thouroughly excited for tights weather (and also not shaving lol!).

sweet little thing

on my way out of new york i thought it would be fun to stop by Laduree, the famous parisian macaron bakery, which just opened its first storefront in new york (the only one in the USA!). i had succumbed to its magic when i was in tokyo back in 2009.
but hello, there was a super long line for the tiny shop that i somehow wasn't expecting. somewhat cranky, i waited it out and of course it was totally worth it for that perfect pistachio macaron (...and a strawberry, lemon, and salted caramel, mmm!).

what a wonderful picnic it was! it was rad to get to meet so many of my lady crushes, and i'm just bummed that i don't live closer to more of them. the above photo is why ashley is the best: when a group of almost naked boys singing swim team boys approached our blankets, she announced it was her birthday and they serenaded happy birthday to her. i could not stop laughing.

i had so much fun. thanks to everyone who organized it, and to all you new york bloggers let's hang out again next time i'm in the city!

what a week! i spent the weekend baking pie and seeing friends and eating said pie.. tonight i'm going to see vivian girls, then it's my roommates birthday so i'm working on a little something for that, and then i'm off to new york for the weekend! i ordered some rain boots and i hope they come in time because it's supposed to rain all weekend. new york in the rain can be so gloomy.
