all hallows eve

it's pretty last minute, but for anyone still looking for some witchy inspiration these sultry black velvet dresses would be just perfect for a wednesday addams costume.. i only wish they fit me!

i'm always rushing at the last minute to throw something together for halloween. still not quite decided on what i'm dressing up as this year, but since halloween falls on monday it seems it may be celebrated more than once over the weekend. so i might have some opportunity to change my mind a few times.

wednesday

it's been a hectic last few days but i'm feeling ultra productive. for starters, i've upgraded to my very own domain! it's www.heartcityvintage.com now, groovy hm?

i've also been doing some serious prowling of thrift shops and yard sales lately, and i've got more gems than hangers to hang them on. but this means there's gonna be lots and lots of new autumn and wintery vintage up in the shop.
& i've still got a long to-do list yet to cross off: pumpkin picking and carving, costume designing, bangs trimmings and going to bed earlier, and a long list of movies to watch oh my. october is going by too fast!

picnic

this is my absolute favorite time of year. is there some place that is autumn all year round?

over the weekend i grabbed some apples and a blanket and made a little picnic. honeycrisps are the best and there's only a few more weeks for them, so i'm stocking up.

how to jazz up basics

i've been getting into integrating more of so called 'basics' into my wardrobe as of late. but this also often leads to staring with glazed over eyes at my own reflection pondering how to make it less, ahem, boring. so here's my foray into how to dress up that basic gray dress:

red & blue

i have so many libra friends with birthdays this week it's ridiculous. last night a bunch of friends went bowling in celebration and well, bowling is not my game. usually i end up sulky and in last place. but last night i surprised myself after a slow start of repeat gutter balls (and a few beers), i was in last place when i rallied in the 10th with a strike and a spare to win the game!
granted, my score was only 83, so i don't think i'll be signing up for any bowling leagues this fall.
